2012 has been a big year to date for Ellie and Louise Macnamara aka Heathers, having recorded their second album with White Lies' producer Max Dingel and signing a global deal with Universal Music Publishing UK.
Their debut album 'Here, Not There' garnered widespread acclaim internationally amongst both fans and media alike for its unique melodic hooks and extraordinary vocals. The album achieved Gold sales status in Ireland and received a further boost when they had one of their songs placed on a major advertising campaign. The track in question was called the "soundtrack to the Irish summer" by one of Ireland's best known radio presenters.
The success of that debut album resulted in two summer length tours in the USA, which developed into further invites to perform at CMJ festival in New York, Canadian Music Week in Toronto, as well as European festivals such as Eurosonic, The Great Escape, Camden Crawl, Oxygen and Belsonic. Most recently they played as part of HMV UK's Next Big Thing, performed two brilliantly-received shows at Camden Crawl Festival and also drew a huge crowd when they headlined London's Barfly in May.
"an inspiringly simple and singularly brilliant record" State Magazine
"The new single from thesetwo Dublin sisters is agloriously upbeatslice of nostalgia.Itsburning, urgent poignancy, dual vocals andcatchy harmonyaim straight for the heart, but avoid cliche. In fact, Heathers, like the film they're named after, are full of their own marvellous idiosyncracies." Music Week UK
