Melbourne's Broadway Sounds are as colourful and eclectic as their name suggests. Threading disparate and unexpected styles and genres together in a way that - on paper - shouldn't make any sense, the trio have launched their vibrant pop through a swathe of critically acclaimed releases. One minute it's Earth Wind & Fire funk with a dash of Daft Punk ('External Influence / Digital Love'), the next it's 'Graceland'-era afro-pop blasted through with trap-rap brass horns ('Sing It Again'). Along with touches of psych, Italo disco, kwela jazz, and township jive, Broadway Sounds draw from some of music's richest lineages. Arbiters of this kind of holistic music-making have taken notice: Broadway Sounds have backed up prized producers and DJs like Jamie XX, Hudson Mohawke, Awesome Tapes From Africa and more on their tours through Australia, and publications across the world have picked up. Stereogum called them "the perfect backdrop for liberating yourself from whatever is bringing you down." THUMP praised their "uplifting kaleidoscopic pop." The Guardian said "Despite heavy references to the funk of the 60s and 70s, electronic elements give the songs a steely backbone, making the music sound completely new."

Broadway Sounds make their European debut with 'Exclusive Love / Digital Influence', a new EP out via 100 Billion Wires.
Written by Broadway Sounds' founder and core member Andrew Diamond Phillips, aka ADP, between 2014 and 2016, 'Exclusive Love / Digital Influence' showcases the breadth of the group's performance. Split between previously released favourites and brand new, never-before-heard releases. Each track features contributions from Philip Jones and Jennifer Ma - the Broadway Sounds live band - and the community of east and west African musicians who've surrounded the band since the start. Far from just a rhythmic good time, these songs speak to all kinds of facets of real life: digital addiction and disconnection versus the need to feel real love on the title track, escapism through fantasy on 'Le Voyage d'un Vagabond', feeling sexy and saucy on 'Ah Ring Ah Ting Ting'.

'Exclusive Love / Digital Influence' is the perfect exhibition of Broadway Sounds' innovative pop, and now out via 100 Billion Wires, they're ready to bring it to Europe.
