Contact
Miss Kaninna is a First Nations artist reshaping contemporary music with a sound that moves between Hip Hop, R&B, rock and soul. Making waves with her breakout debut single Blak Britney in 2023, the rapper/singer/songwriter has been on a meteoric rise, emerging as a potent voice of punk and power in so-called Australia.
A critical and cultural breakthrough, Blak Britney became a powerful anthem that hit #1 on triple j, featured in Netflix’s Heartbreak High, and earned three ARIA nominations, including Best Independent Release. She made history as the first independent Aboriginal woman to be nominated for an ARIA for a debut single. Renowned for her electric live shows with fury and resistance at their core, Miss Kaninna has supported national tours with Amyl and the Sniffers and Kneecap and performed alongside Stormzy, Steve Lacy and Raye on Australia’s 2024 Laneway Festival tour. She was named triple j Unearthed Artist of the Year and took home the inaugural Justin Cosby Award for Best Emerging Artist at SXSW Sydney, going on to wow audiences internationally at SXSW Texas, International Indigenous Music Summit Toronto and The Great Escape.
Named in NME’s 2025 Essential 100 Emerging Artists, her genre-defying approach to performance provides a staunch foundation for a new artist with an urgency for change.
