Blue Daisy is London-based vocalist and producer Kwesi Darko - his dark, menacing music has resulted in a steady stream of distinctive releases and comparisons to Tyler, Burial, Massive Attack and Portishead. He recently collaborated with Tricky, opened for Public Enemy and will release a new album through widely-respected label R&S Records in 2015.

Blue Daisy: New Album 'Darker Than Blue'
Blue Daisy's new album 'Darker Than Blue' recently dropped via R&S Records. There's a lot in the name: "Everything I'm talking about, it's me, but it's my demons", he told The Fader earlier this year. "The 'Darker Than Blue' thing came from that, and also the fact that I'm a black individual in this world. I am darker than blue. This is the label that they put on me".
Essentially: it's a dark, menacing record that's about death, yet bursting with the fury of life. And one of the stand-out cuts on 'Darker Than Blue' is 'Gravediggers' - which we're premiering the video for here. Blue Daisy told us over email that the theme centres around "walking down a deserted, dusty road, with chaos lurking in the shadows at night with a man fighting his way to redemption".

Blue Daisy: New Album & Video 'Darker Than Blue'
London MC and producer Blue Daisy is gearing up to release his debut album on the legendary R&S Records.
'Darker Than Blue' finds Kwesi Darko meditating on the clash between dark and light, yin and yang and good and evil on songs that traverse rap, rock, blues and punk, and the title track is brooding and cinematic.
Directed and produced by FACT TV, the video was shot around Hackney Wick, near Darko's studio, and at Brewer Street Car Park in Soho.
'Darker Than Blue' is out on September 25th on R&S - pre-order it from Bandcamp and iTunes.

Blue Daisy: Signs To R&S Records
Blue Daisy has signed to R&S Records and will release a new album with them in the new year. He also appears at the R&S night at Oslo in London, next Saturday.
He also features in the second episode of FACT Magazine's 'FACT Freestyles' bringing the heat over one of his own beats.
