The inaugural moniker of Hertfordshire based producer Jon Gooch, Spor found his feet on London’s Renegade Hardware in 2005 after months of handing out demos in London clubs. Soon after he branched off with his own imprint Lifted Music in collaboration with Chris Renegade, bringing a new brand of heavy-hitting drum & bass that blended a highly technical style with a sense of musicality and wit from outside of the genre.

Lifted soon gathered an international following and saw him tour with a close-knit group of friends and artists globally, including adopting a presence in the early USA scene, while producing a series of solo and collaborative EPs as well as remixes for artists such as The Prodigy, Qemists, Muse, Bad Company UK, Basement Jaxx, Noisia, Calyx, Teebee & Depeche Mode. Subsequent years saw success from the deepest underground clubs of Eastern Europe to the BBC hosted stage of Glastonbury.

2015 marked the release of his debut album Caligo on his broader focus label Sotto Voce, followed by the audio-visual EP Anachronic, and work for long-time collaborator label mau5trap.

2024 has seen Jon returning to the project that has punctuated the majority of his life in music. With releases on UKF, Sotto Voce & a remix for emerging talent Nitepunk, he continues to develop Spor as a sound, pen his own artwork and visuals, and see where this journey takes him next.
