Joining a storied lineage of family entertainers like the Isleys, the Allmans, and the Baldwins, Grammy-nominated siblings A-Trak and Dave 1 have made their parents happy and finally teamed up as The Brothers Macklovitch. The turntable icon and Chromeo frontman meld funky influences from their formative days (Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, Masters At Work) with crisp production and soulful hooks. Call it furry Kangol music.
They made their Fool’s Gold debut with the one two punch of singles “Give Love To Get Some” (feat Leven Kali) and “I Can Call You,” covering a 90s childhood r&b favorite. Remixes by electronic legends Waajeed, Morgan Geist (Metro Area), DJ Spinna and Pal Joey took TBM’s multi-generational spirit to new levels, and the duo’s ecstatic DJ streams continue to deliver soulful sounds and much needed joy to quarantined dancers worldwide.
