Mark Reeve: New Single 'With Us'

The English born Mark Reeve is an old-school Techno producer. There is no schmaltz, no loop fiddling and no cheap sensationalism in his tracks, which are aiming at the big Techno floors. Dark, kicking and with an incredible amount of energy, he creates Techno tracks that allow no escape.

The opener 'With Us' shows all this in an impressing way. The kettle-like ride cymbals and the "Spaced Out" vocals generate an almost mystical atmosphere. The mighty bass grounding does the rest: go for it - nothing more, nothing less!

'From The Soul' slows down the whole thing a bit, however it's still a pumping and lively track. Certainly, Reeve offers more variety in the arrangement, with long breaks and monstrous chords that should make any after hour boil over.

Reeve's 'Antidote' sounds like a trip through time, back to the golden days of Berlin's Tresor club. Detroit meets Berlin: demanding, decent and full of testosterone. For fans of Slam and Gary Beck!

'Initial Spark', Reeve's collaboration with Ingo Boss, is a great DJ tool. A cool, kicking groove with much room for long mixes and some DJ work behind the decks. No artificial mood elevators and no Ableton DJ fireworks, but rather solid Techno that leaves the DJ to still be a DJ and doesn't take the work out of his hands.

So, Reeve delivers a true Reeve. Also his cooperations with Pig & Dan and his releases on Soma or Traum are shining through here. For those who like it a little more tough!

    FunkinEven: New Single 'Dracula'

The forthcoming release adds another notch to what's been an impressive and prolific year for Funkineven, closely following that all-conquering Fatima collaboration 'Phone Line' and the Funkinevil record produced with Kyle Hall.
The two tracks on it make for a stylistic about-turn from the TV theme funk of the last Apron release (and artwork of the year contender) 'Chips & Sweets', 'Dracula' is the kind of stuttering 303 acid jam FunkinEven is an expert of, reminiscent of the brilliant 'Roland's Jam', while 'Cha!' is a loose-limbed slice of proto-techno which goes heavy on the unfiltered analogue bass, driven forward with lolloping drum machine beats. Released on red coloured vinyl, the look & sound for a perfect 'horror' movie soundtrack !!!

    Django Django: 'Life's A Beach'

Following on from the release of recent single 'Hail Bop' and subsequently the extended 'Hail Bop EP', Django Django are pleased to confirm details of their next release from their exceptional eponymous debut album which was nominated for this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize. This revered accolade is yet another deserved nod, as it was announced last week that the band are in the running for Best New Act at this year's Q Awards.

'Life's A Beach' will be released digitally on November 12 and the 10" on November 26 as their forthcoming sold out UK tour draws to a close culminating in two dates at London's Heaven, which are rescheduled to October 30th and November 12th as they initially fell during the period of the Mercury Prize ceremony.

'Life's A Beach' will be available on picture disc 10" accompanied by a remix by Steve Mason (Beta Band).

Django Django will round off what is proving to be an incredible 2012 with a show at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on December 21.

"One of the year's most joyous releases" Q

"Surely this debut won't be topped in 2012." 5/5 - The Guardian

Two Fingers: New Video 'Vengeance Rhythm'

Amon Tobin presents the next brutalist masterpiece wired up under his Two Fingers guise, 'Vengeance Rhythm'. A low-slung exercise in violence, brooding power and pure production smarts, in the words of a recent Resident Advisor feature, it's "a little like dubstep built on an interplanetary scale".
The tune has been brought to life (and death) in a truly jaw-dropping video from stop-frame animator and director Chris Ullens. Ullens transforms a pile of toys, a love of super slo-mo explosions and a huge pile of mince into the funniest, most eye-popping and shocking exercise in animated ultra-violence since Walt Disney discovered Mickey and Donald were engaged in Un-American Activities together.

DJ Die / Sure Thing: New Single 'Holding You Tight'

Bristol legend DJ Die presents the third single on his blossoming Gutterfunk imprint. Sure Thing's line-up includes Die himself, Futureboogie's Christophe, drummer Dessi Rogers, vocals from Chloe Lang, guitar and talkbox by Bright Lights vocalist William Cartwright and keys from wonder-kid Joker, rounding out a crew that unites players from Bristol's house, jungle, and dubstep scenes. It's a perfect pastiche of early-1980s electro-boogie, right down to the Zapp-styled talk box effects and the video is truly one not to be missed.

'Holding You Tight' is out now on digital-release and a limited run of vinyl.

Boys Noize: New Single 'ICH R U'

Boys Noize new single 'ICH R U' is taken from his new album 'Out of the Black'. The video is directed by Patrick Jean & Sebastien Loghman.

"'ICH R U' is probably the most melodic one on my new album. If you know some of my tracks like 'Yeah', 'Jeffer' or 'Shine Shine'... it has that sort of vibe. It surprises me that friends or fans sometimes prefer the melodic or softer stuff I do, especially on my remixes and I think 'ICH R U' is obviously more of a softer one - but it's still super funky and Disco6000. Again, it has robot vocals, which I prefer to the human one, haha..."
