Tricky: European Tour & New Album 'False Idols'
In anticipation of forthcoming album, 'False Idols', Tricky has announced a string of European shows beginning in April, with three album release shows across London, Berlin and Paris in the week before the release of the album on May 27th.

Alt-J: BBC 2 Station Idents
The British television channel BBC 2 has chosen three Alt-J tracks for use as station idents. Instrumental versions of 'Something Good', 'Intro' and 'Fitzpleasure' from the band's Mercury Music Prize winning album 'An Awesome Wave', are all currently appearing between programmes on the station.

The almighty Buraka Som Sistema join the Upper Cuts free download series on a mission to give the world yet another musical genre to dance to.
The tropical downtempo madness of first 15 minutes of their now legendary Boiler Room set marked the introduction of Zouk Bass, a brand new tropical hybrid born from the meeting of the French Antillan rhythms of zouk - and its Lusophone relative kizomba - with the bass-heavy styles of the UK underground.'Zouk Flute' is the name of the track that brings the slow and sexy zouk rhythms to the 21st century clubs. Alex Metric: 'Ammunition 3' EP
It's with no hesitation that UK floor-filler Alex Metric drops an assertive 4/4 thump line to initiate the beautiful, diverse and heavy 'Ammunition 3 EP', his second collection of all new tracks for Skrillex's OWSLA collective. The man can't sit still, his provocative sound leaning heavily on UK garage before slamming headlong into breakbeats while rave synth-work fills in the details, and I'm speaking merely about the final cut of the collection. On the four tracks that comprise his newest, diva vocals flit and build around precise claps, stabs punctuate the low-end, flecks of acid permeate the mix; His amalgam is precise and diverse, tied together with a measured ear and impeccable taste.
Alex is an anomaly in his immediate circle of peers, his tunes awash with appreciation for the historical library of UK electronic music while wholeheartedly borrowing the US's most recent, open-armed approach to bass. It's his keen ability to incorporate and reinterpret the influences of the distant past for a wide-eyed audience, and few are doing it better regardless of context. We've seen the first wave crash on western shores, Alex is dead set on proving there's plenty more in the distance.

Phoenix: Live at Shepherds Bush Empire
Phoenix will be celebrating the release of 'Bankrupt!', their fifth studio album, in style on April 22nd, as they land in London to play Shepherds Bush Empire for what will be their first British show of the year. With their hotly anticipated follow up to 2009's critically acclaimed 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' released on the same day, this will be a memorable chance for fans to experience the tracks in their full glory as the band touch back on these shores before embarking on a string of dates at some of the world's biggest festivals.
A series of U.S. tour dates will culminate in a Saturday night headline slot at this year's Coachella, before the French outfit return to Europe to play a number of the continent's most highly regarded events, starting with a headline Thursday night slot at Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
The band have also just been revealed as a NME/Radio 1 stage headliner at this year's Reading & Leeds Festivals, which sees them returning to the sites for the first time since 2010.'Bankrupt!' is the incredible follow up to 2009's critically lauded 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix', which sold over 1 million copies worldwide, was certified Gold in the U.S., and Platinum in Canada, Australia and France. The band also won the Grammy for 'Best Alternative Album'.
'Bankrupt!' was co-produced by the band - Thomas Mars (vocals), Laurent Brancowitz (guitar), Christian Mazzalai (guitar), and Deck D'Arcy (bass) - and producer Philippe Zdar.Tickets for the show will be available through an exclusive pre-sale via the band's website on Wednesday 13th March at 10am at wearephoenix.com/tour and on general sale from Friday. Fans will also have the chance to pre-order the new album from the website when buying tickets.
'Bankrupt!' will be released on April 22nd on Atlantic / Glassnote Records.
