Proxy: Debut Album 'Music From The Eastblock Jungles'

After years of anticipation, Proxy at last presents his debut album, 'Music From The Eastblock Jungles', to be released in two parts to showcase the prolific underground rave-czar's awe-inspiring body of work. Beloved by top DJs and stadium crowds the world over, the undisputed master of the 'Turn It Up to 11' movement has created a work that harnesses the spirit of pure rave culture, with over 20 tracks that span and elevate countless genres without regard for trends or ephemeral influences.

'Music From The Eastblock Jungles' is the product of an artist who forged a sound in complete isolation, leading him to entrench himself in the middle of nowhere in his native Russia, continuing in the UK rave tradition of his Essex-spawned idols, The Prodigy. Years in the making, it features a massive stockpile of new material, as well as Proxy classics both renowned 'Raven' and unreleased 'Abyss', 'Raw', 'Who Are You' & more.

Proxy now takes his Soundtrack to The Apocalypse around the globe with a truly stunning, sonic live experience.

Dave Clarke: Remixes I Am Kloot

The seminal Manchester trio I Am Kloot's single 'These Days Are Mine', taken from the band's forthcoming studio album 'Let It All In', gets the remix treatment by Dave Clarke. After months of continuous heavy duty studio work producing new tunes and remixes under the Unsubscribe moniker (with Mr. Jones), the Baron finally returns with a long awaited Dave Clarke solo production.

Dave Clarke took I Am Kloot's original folk pop version, stripped down the vocals, transformed the single into a seven minute electro belter and made it suitable for the global dance floors.

I Am Kloot - 'These Days Are Mine' (Dave Clarke Remix) is out on PIAS Recordings.

Dave Clarke Presents during Queen's Night at Melkweg Amsterdam

With the epic, sold out ADE edition still fresh in our memories, the Amsterdam venue klinch / Melkweg in close collaboration with Dave Clarke presents a new edition of Dave Clarke Presents, on Queens Night Monday the 29th of April 2013. The Dave Clarke Presents concept reflects Clarkes versatile and progressive musical taste, always on a quest to find the right balance between established names and upcoming talent in the techno genre and its subgenres. For this edition, the British top-dj again managed to compose an impressive line-up which consists of Paul Ritch (live), Cari Lekebusch, Steve Rachmad, Perc and Delta Funktionen, amongst others.

Dave Clarke hardly needs any introduction, the impact Clarke had and still has on the international techno scene with his productions, DJ sets and radio show is simply astonishing. Each week he is on duty in the biggest and most prolific global clubs and his worldly acclaimed radio show / podcast White Noise may very well be named an institute for techno and electro fans.

After a significant leave of absence, Clarke is back to producing tunes again; with Dutch producer Mr. Jones, Clarke already delivered remixes under their Unsubscribe guise for the likes of Boys Noize and Gesaffelstein.
As Dave Clarke, the Brit recently remixed the Manchester based folk-pop band I Am Kloot and his very own techno classic 'Wisdom To The Wise' (Red 2) will see a re-release on Boysnoize Records.

Nick Warren: 'Renaissance - The Masters Series'

The first Renaissance 'Masters Series' of 2013 comes courtesy of DJ, producer and label owner Nick Warren. This is not only his first compilation for the clubbing institution since 2001 but his first full solo outing over two CDs.

"The mix was a joy to do. It had been a while since I had done a downtempo mix for a compilation and with the success of my Soundgarden Radio show I thought the time was right for one again. CD1 is a mix of new and old, the ambient mixes are always a bit tougher to find all new material for, and tunes like the Bubble Club track were missed by a lot of people when it was released last year.CD2 sums up where I am as a DJ right now: a mixture of deep melodic house and techno plus a euphoric ending. All the producers really did a great job for me and the thanks as always goes to them" - Nick Warren, Nov 2012

Like all great mixes, it is ultimately far more rewarding to sit down and absorb the sounds than read about them. The nigh on 160 minutes of genuinely engrossing, eclectic music tells the sound of Nick Warren.
There's no quick start guide for this: it involves commitment.

Nick has achieved much in dance music: playing across the planet as Massive Attack's tour DJ, era defining compilations for Renaissance, Global Underground and Back To Mine, timeless music and live shows as Way Out West and residencies at all of the key clubs; Ministry of Sound, Cream and of course Renaissance. In Nick's present he continues to play out across every continent, whilst also maintaining Hope Recording's high quality output. Driven by a continual desire for change, his sound is no better represented than by his bi-monthly radio show 'Soundgarden' on Friskyradio, which attracts over 150,000 listeners to each broadcast.

2012 saw Renaissance celebrate their twentieth year of activity. They returned to Ibiza for a sterling season at Pacha, a series of special 20th Anniversary events in the UK, headed by Sasha and, towards the end of the year, John Digweed, and instigated a new series of high quality mix compilations; Tale of Us, Francois K and Slam are all lined up for releases in the first half of 2013.

Geoff Oakes of Renaissance said: "We've tried many times over the years to do something with Nick and I'm really pleased it's finally happened. Nick's delivered a great album, which gives us the perfect start to 2013".

    The Upbeats: New Single 'Diffused'

New Zealand drum'n'bass duo The Upbeats release their new single 'Diffused' on Vision Recordings through Beatport on 14th January, then on iTunes and vinyl from the 28th.

Diffuse (verb): spread over a wide area or among a large number of people... Sometimes track titles genuinely write themselves.

A global hook-up between New Zealand and Holland, this bone-shaking slice of emotion-caked D&B has already spread itself across the planet.
And it's about to spread itself over every discerning dancefloor.

Within seconds of pressing play you'll hear why. Opening with a dreamy synth hook, minor-key melody and distant, inward-seeking vocals, 'Diffused' is The Upbeats at their most pensive and contemplative.
Triplet kick drums tease before the drop then BOOM: the rolling groove hits you like a fleet of magic carpets, whisking you to far-off places you didn't even know existed. Known for their consistent variety, 'Diffused' is infallible proof that The Upbeats can go just as deep as they can hard.

Remix-wise S.P.Y was the perfect choice. Fresh from winning Best Album at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards, the Brazilian's penchant for soul, depth and melodic clarity is reflected in abundance throughout his reversion.
Paying respect to the original, he's maintained the arrangement and hook while adding his own skippy drumwork and sonic-boom hits on the bassline.

Elsewhere we find Aussie producer Opiuo cooking up an entirely different flavour. Pushing the tempo down to glitch territory, he's grafted the lush chords into a swaggering, spliced groove that shimmers and sparkles with equal measure of funk and stomp. A true schooling in tempo-flexing, you can file this re-rub under 'special'.

'The Undertaker' finishes the set, and does so with a knowing nod. An all-out sonic shocker, if you've picked up on their previous work for Bad Taste, Lifted, Ganja-Tek, or indeed their collaborative work with Vision bosses Noisia, then you'll be well aware of the duo's darker dance capabilities. Growling and grizzling with perfectly measured menace, 'Undertaker' will pile-drive your floor into submission with true distinction.

We've said it before but we'll say it again... Sometimes track titles genuinely write themselves.
