Dave Clarke: 'White Noise' 400th Episode

The mother of all techno radio shows and podcasts, Dave Clarke's legendary White Noise, will reach its 400th episode on Saturday the 24th of August 2013. This longest enduring techno music radio show is seen by global techno fans as an absolute institution for techno and electro and an indicator of where the scene is headed. For the 400th installment of White Noise, Clarke will present a special 3-hour live show in the Dublin studios of Irish radio station RTE 2FM accompanied by special guests, to be aired over the airwaves as well as live via YouTube.

The thrust of White Noise is to cast light on new talented producers and exciting new music by both established as well as aspiring producers Clarke discovers on a weekly basis. Rather than playing the obvious, Dave Clarke programs music that won't have normally be given a chance.
The amicable split up with Dutch radio broadcaster VPRO (3FM) in 2012, and by reducing the show from two hours to a one hour show, allowed Clarke to dedicate more time to create music. Clarke continued White Noise on the Irish radio station RTE 2FM and French online and airwave station Radio FG, followed by the award winning web radio Digitally Imported (DI.fm). Currently, White Noise is syndicated to over forty radio stations worldwide.

Dave Clarke will fly to Dublin to live present an extended 3-hour White Noise #400 show between 10pm and 1am (UK time). Prior to the festive White Noise episode, radio host Will Kinsella will present a pre-show on RTE Pulse between 9pm and 10pm UK time. Alongside Clarke, The Baron of Techno will be joined by DefeKt - an electro musician representing Southern Ireland - and the Northern Ireland tech-sisters L.A.W., a duo who came in first place on the Demolition Panel during the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2012, a panel Clarke hosted. Both acts may count on a vast amount of radio plays by Clarke during previous White Noise episodes. DefeKt and L.A.W. will perform live during White Noise #400.

UK followers can tune in to White Noise #400 to 2FM on SKY & Freesat or online, and commercial-free via RTE Pulse using the RTE Radio Player.
Outside of the UK, the techno aficionado can use the RTE Radio Player. In case you would like to take a sneak-peak into the studio and witness Dave Clarke & Guests, the entire show will be aired on YouTube via the 2FM page and a video version of White Noise #400 will be made available on YouTube the following weekend. The show will be recorded, with a 'special edition' podcast available the following Wednesday.

Keep a close eye on Dave Clarke's twitter channel @DJDaveClarke, where all links and details will be communicated to fans, friends and followers!

Glasvegas: New Album 'Later... When The TV Turns To Static'

Glasvegas release their third studio album, 'Later... When The TV Turns To Static' on 2nd September. Featuring the singles 'I'd Rather Be Dead (Than Be With You)' and 'If', the latter being applauded as a "welcome back to brilliant" for the band, the album was recorded in their hometown of Glasgow at Gorbals Studio with singer and songwriter James Allan in the producer's chair.

The title reflects much of the album's lyrical sentiments with James explaining thus:
"When you think about night time and the TV's static, I never think about anybody who's got company, because if they've got company the TV wouldn't be at static, somebody would change it. So there's something that isn't quite right. Something that's not parallel, symmetrical, that's out of balance, basically. There are a lot of those sentiments running through this record."

The album release sees the band embark on a full UK and European tour and will be followed by the release of the album's title track as a single on September 23rd. The album comes in standard format and a special deluxe edition featuring a bespoke 40 page booklet overseen by James Allan and featuring unseen photographs and other band curios alongside a DVD of the bands acoustic performance at recorded live in a 19th Century Baptist Church in Glasgow.

'Later... When The TV Turns To Static' is released via BMG Rights Management on 2nd September 2013.

    Marianne Faithfull: Concerts Cancelled

Marianne Faithfull has been forced to cancel shows in Lebanon and America after fracturing her sacrum.
Having suffered the injury in a fall in July, Marianne had been hoping to be fully recovered in time for the shows. In a handwritten letter to fans in Beirut she wrote:

"I am so sad I won't be able to sing for you on Saturday. I broke my back in July & hoped & prayed I would be better enough to be able to do the performance on 17th August, although it's not very long, but my recovery was going well. Alas!"

"I have never been to the Lebanon though I know it through books. It looks like one of the most beautiful places in the world. I was longing to play in Beirut & see your lovely city. I still hope to be able to come one day not too far away when I'm completely healed and have my dream to sing in Beirut come true.
With sincere apology & love, Marianne Faifthfull"

Billed as "an intimate evening with Marianne Faithfull" the shows were the conclusion of a critically acclaimed summer tour which included dates in London and California. The cancelled shows are

August 17th - Baalbeck International Festival, Beirut
September 16th - City Winery, New York
    September 22nd & 23rd - City Winery, Chicago

Ticket holders should contact the place of purchase.

Buraka Som Sistema: Documentary 'Off The Beaten Track'

"The concept of digging was introduced in the late '90s. It s basically going around basements and record collections in search of that perfect loop that you can sample and use in your own records. Instead of searching for old 12 vinyl, our search is based on what is going on in the world right now" Branko, Buraka Som Sistema

Buraka Som Sistema, the hugely successful international band best known for their unique ability to bring an experimental mix of music from all corners of the globe to the clubs, announce 'Off The Beaten Track' a 60 minute documentary to be premiered in September and on a five date European tour.

'Off The Beaten Track' is the documentary that tells the incredible story of four unlikely musicians, as they travel to Luanda, Caracas, London and the Lisbon suburb of Amadora to show how these cities, as well as their sounds, people, colours and movement helped to create the phenomenon that is Buraka Som Sistema. With the full support of Red Bull Music Academy and the talented illustration work of artist Kate Moross, Lisbon's most unlikely band venture on a trip around the world and back to the studio, as they bring their experiences home to start laying down the first beats of the next Buraka album in London.

Branko, Riot, Kalaf and Conductor - four completely different guys from totally different backgrounds - took the furious rhythms of Angolan kuduro, mixed it with techno, grime and whatever else was handy and created critically acclaimed albums such as 2009 s 'Black Diamond' and 2011s 'Komba'. Enjoying support from the likes of Diplo, M.I.A., Santigold and Skream, who also appear in the documentary, Buraka share their intimate experiences over the past year.

Directed by Joao Pedro Moreira who directed videos for hits 'Hangover (BaBaBa)' and 'Sound of Kuduro', 'Off The Beaten Track' will be screened at forthcoming dates before the legendary Buraka Som Sistema full live show.

    Digitalism: New 'Lift' EP

'Lift' will see release on legendary French label, and Digitalism's home base, Kitsune! Out on September 23rd! This Mini-Mix was specially constructed mix of all three tracks on the EP.

The 'Lift' EP will be remarkable release for Digitalism not just for the reason that they collaborated for the first time on these tracks, but it also marks a return to the label that helped introduce them to international dance floors - Kitsune records. It may feel like a homecoming, but 'Lift' continues to break new ground for Digitalism. The duo deliberately carved out long-stretches of studio time over the past twelve months to work on some collaborations.

Collaborations are a rarity for the pair, but the new EP features three tracks and three collaborators The M Machine, Steve Duda and Michael Diamond. The forthcoming release will be a taste of what Digitalism are capable of, but in this instance they wrote within the confides of the Dance Floor but with the expanse and freedom of collaborating with other artists to try and see how far they could push their sound.

The EP opens with the title track 'Lift', a collaboration with The M Machine. 'Lift' is a rhythmic melodic classic, layering synths with diced vocal samples a plenty to give this track an undeniable and upbeat, dance anthem feel. 'Dudalism', a collaboration with electronic wizard Steve Duda, glows with the ethereal vibes of a night about to take off into madness. Rounding out the EP is the darker 'Electric Fist', which Michael Diamond has lent his talents to; it's all dark synth play, vocal chops and pulsating distortion.

In celebration and support of their upcoming EP 'Lift', Digitalism will play nine select DJ dates across North America in August and September.

Two Door Cinema Club: O2 Arena & New Ep Release

Today, Two Door Cinema Club announce their biggest UK headline show to date at London's 20,000 capacity O2 Arena on December 13th and reveal a new EP which includes three brand new tracks. The 'Changing of the Seasons' EP will be released on 30th September with the lead title track premiered tonight at 7:30pm by Zane Lowe on Radio 1.
O2 Arena tickets go on general sale at 9am on Wednesday 21st from:

    www.gigsandtours.com

A huge achievement for any band, made no less impressive by the fact that Two Door Cinema Club are only on their second album, the O2 Arena show marks yet another leap forward in the band's remarkable rise from the gritty underground touring circuit of Northern Ireland to some of the world's biggest stages - a rise that has inspired a generation of new young bands to hit the road and put in the hard graft to get to the top.

"I want to know how many gigs we have done to get here. We have been quite lucky to build our following in the right way - the pub shows, then the theatre shows, then the warehouse shows. It feels like a huge achievement, it is the thing we have been working very hard towards for a long time but at the same time we feel confident and ready that we are experienced enough and have got enough fans and enough songs and enough records behind us to headline the O2. It will be the biggest moment of our career so far!", said guitarist Sam Halliday.

Produced by cult electronic artist Madeon, brand new single, 'Changing of the Seasons' is Two Door Cinema Club like you've never heard them before. Bringing a dancier edge to the band's trademark sound, the track is set to get dance-floors shaking all over the world this summer.

Recently signing to Parlophone, the band have had a summer to remember with much-lauded festival performances at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Sonar and Lollapalooza among others. They are set to play at V Festival this weekend before embarking on an extensive October US tour this Autumn - for full tour dates go to:

    Shenoda: 'Premier' With Huxley

Coming on the 30th September, Defected Records are proud to announce the release of a brand new EP from Huxley & Shenoda.

Huxley & Shenoda are two of the most in-demand producers on the underground house scene and the 'Chatsworth Sound EP' is the pair's full collaborative debut. Long-time friends and label mates on Hypercolour and Huxley's 'Saints & Sonnets', the duo have undeniable studio chemistry and 'Chatsworth Sound EP' debuts it beautifully.

The appeals of 'Premier' are perhaps a touch subtler but no less effective, as a Reece inspired bassline gives way to beautifully fragile swatches of glimmering synths, before returning alongside a huge kick to lass waste to all who stand before it. This time the vocal takes centre stage with one of the most yearningly hypnotic refrains of recent memory.

Anna Calvi: New Album 'One Breath'

Domino is pleased to announce the release of 'One Breath', the new album from Anna Calvi on 7th October 2013. 'One Breath' is a bold and confident record that begins an exciting new chapter in this uniquely talented artist's career.

Produced by John Congleton in Blackbox Studios, France and mixed in Dallas, Texas, USA, 'One Breath' was written in a year and recorded over a few intense weeks.

'One Breath' is a more personal record than its Mercury and Brit nominated predecessor. Reflective and vulnerable, it strikes a balance between optimism and despair, beauty and ugliness. The fiery elements of Anna's debut remain, but 'One Breath' is more instinctive and urgent, revealing a wider spectrum of textures and emotion.

"'One Breath' is the moment before you've got to open yourself up, and it's about how terrifying that is. It's scary and it's thrilling. It's also full of hope, because whatever has to happen hasn't happened yet."
    - Anna Calvi

'One Breath', with all music and lyrics written by Calvi, will be available on CD, LP and digitally. There will also be a special edition heavyweight gatefold LP with a bonus 7" featuring two exclusive tracks, 'Endless World' and '1970s Wind', plus a limited edition print. The first 500 CDs and special edition LPs pre-ordered through Dom Mart will be signed by the artist.
