alt-J: New Short Film, Single & Album
alt-J today debut the video for '3WW' the opening track from their forthcoming third album 'RELAXER', which will now be released on 2 June in heavyweight vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats. The record is the follow up to their number one, GRAMMY and BRIT Award-nominated album 'This Is All Yours', and also features current single 'In Cold Blood'. It was recorded all over London - from Shoreditch to St John's Wood, Crouch Hill to Brixton - with producer Charlie Andrew.
The short film for '3WW' is directed by Young Replicant (AKA Alex Takacs), who has previously made videos for Flying Lotus, Lorde and The xx, and is described by alt-J's Gus Unger-Hamilton as "a beautifully shot story of love and loss in the mountains of Mexico".
alt-J also today launch a new interactive website based upon the cult 90s PlayStation game 'LSD Dream Emulator' that inspired the graphic design of the new record.
alt-J are one of the most successful British bands of the millennium. 'RELAXER' follows 2014's 'This Is All Yours', and their 2012 Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award-winning debut 'An Awesome Wave'.
Between them, the two records have sold in excess of two million copies and their songs have been streamed more than one billion times. The band - Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green - have headlined festivals across the globe and sold out London's O2 Arena and New York's legendary Madison Square Garden on their last tour. Earlier this month they announced a return to the O2 Arena for a special show on 16 June as part of the venue's 10th birthday celebrations; limited tickets for the show are still available. A number of festival shows are also confirmed for the summer, including Glastonbury Festival, with still more to be announced.
The band today announce a tour of North America for the fall. -

Pale Waves: New Single, Video & North American Tour
Pale Waves have unveiled the video for their debut single 'There's a Honey', set for release on April 21st. Heather said of the song and video "There's A Honey is a song about a failed relationship, the sense of desperation, contrasting feelings and insecurities. For the first Pale Waves video we wanted to create something that was minimal and beautiful. Drawing inspiration from American sculptor Daniel Wurtzel, romantic yet evoking a feeling of claustrophobia."
The Manchester four-piece are the latest signing to Dirty Hit and have recently played sold out shows across the UK on the inaugural Dirty Hit tour. This month will see the band head out as special guests on The 1975's North American tour.
