Heavenly Recordings are delighted to announce that Hooton Tennis Club will release their second album 'Big Box of Chocolates' on Friday October 21st.
This records follows last years critically acclaimed debut album 'Highest Point in Cliff Town.' This time round the record was produced by Edwyn Collins at his Clashnarrow Studios in Helmsdale, Scotland.
If their debut album, 'Highest Point In Cliff Town', released in August last year, was the band's sprightly statement of intent, 'Big Box of Chocolates' may well be their coming-of-age: a record that retains all the colour and invention of their debut, while being elevated by richer instrumentation and lyrics that hint at slightly heavier themes: love and loss, nihilism and the "non-spaces" of Northern England, all delivered in the band's typically laconic, bittersweet style, like a Mersey Beat Murakami.
The dozen tracks continue the band's knack of combining catchy off-kilter riffs with droll storytelling; album narrators - vocalists and guitarists Ryan Murphy and James Madden - seem to straddle optimism and uncertainty with their lyrics, whether singing about their internal worlds or commenting on a motley cast of characters (Bootcut Jimmy, BBC 6Music presenter Lauren Laverne, Lazers Linda...) who turn up across the album's 41 minutes to amuse, tempt or torment them. Whether fictional (the awkward genius Jimmy "looking shifty in his new shoes") or real (Ryan's ex-housemate immortalised in first single 'Katy-Anne Bellis'), each character shares an equal platform, all revered in Hooton's own low-key way.

The Mission: New Album 'Another Fall From Grace'
The Mission release their new album, 'Another Fall From Grace', on 30th September 2016, except the USA (released 14th October). Available on CD, double CD (w/bonus DVD), Vinyl and digital download versions, it was produced by Wayne Hussey and Tim Palmer and features guest backing vocals from Gary Numan, Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Ville Valo (HIM), Julianne Regan (All About Eve) & Evi Vine.
'Another Fall From Grace'
For me, this new Mission album is the long lost missing link between the Sisters Of Mercy's 'First & Last & Always' and The Mission's 'God's Own Medicine', both albums of course that I was heavily involved in making. I set out this time with the intention of making an album that sounds like 1985. The fact that I feel this has largely been achieved is down to my renewed love for the jingle jangle shimmer of the electric 12 string guitar which featured heavily on those two previously mentioned albums and now the new Mission album.This is a dark album although I didn't set out with that intention, it's just the way things unfolded. I know I did go a little crazy and even a little paranoid during the recording of this album, certainly my mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well being all suffered during the course of it. And I think that has informed both the music and the lyrics. So much of this was done in isolation - from the world, from my family, from my friends, and even from my band mates. I can't say it's an album I enjoyed making but it is an album I NEEDED to make. It is with huge relief that I can now say it is finished and maybe it's like an acute pain that you have that once it's gone you can't remember how it felt. I hope so as I would like one day to feel the fondness for this record that it maybe deserves.

The 'Met-Amor-Phosis' digital only single includes a haunting acoustic version by Wayne Hussey and a high energy club version called, 'The Black Star Remix' by Evansson.
'Met-Amor-Phosis' emerged following a coastal drive from LA to San Francisco, explains Wayne - "Bowie had just died and whilst the first verse is mostly autobiographical having also recently read Kafka's novel of the same title the second verse is certainly flavoured by Bowie's passing".

Noisia: 'Outer Edges' Album Leak
"Friday night, while we were in the final minutes of setting up the stage for our first ever 'Outer Edges' show, we received the news that our album had been leaked. We think you can imagine how bad we felt at that moment :'(
We realise it's 2016, and things like these happen all the time. Still, it's quite a setback. All the plans we've made have to be scrapped and replaced by something less ideal, because we have to react to this unfortunate situation.
So far in releasing this album, we've made a conscious effort to make every track that's available somewhere, available everywhere. If you pre-ordered the album on Itunes or our webstore, you received the new track the same day it was first premiered on Soundcloud. We believe that users of all platforms should be able to listen to our music pretty much the minute it's available anywhere else. In this philosophy, the availability of our whole album on illegal download sites means that we have to make it available on all platforms.
So here's our reaction:
We have immediately changed all our previous plans and made the whole album available to buy on our web store right now. All other digital platforms will follow this Friday August 5th, that was the quickest date we could manage. The physical products (Vinyl/CD/Merch) are still in production so their release date will remain September 16th.Even though we are unhappy about this leak, we're still really happy with the music. We really hope you will enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
