Lee 'Scratch' Perry: 'Vision Of Paradise'

'Vision Of Paradise', the new movie about the life & times of legendary reggae producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry, recieves it's UK premiere at the East End Film Festival, on Saturday 4th July.

This is the ultimate portrait of one of the icons of contemporary music. Shooting over 15 years, Volker Schaner had unprecedented access to the man who can lay claim to be a godfather of both reggae and dub.
Lee 'Scratch' Perry's 'Vision of Paradise' is funny, poetic and frequently mind-blowing.

FLESH: UK Headline Tour In September

Following the release latest single 'W8 4 ME', Manchester based quartet FLESH have announced an 11 date UK tour for September.

FLESH are the pioneers of 'SnotPop', a genre they have christened as a snotty, smutty new wave of Britpop with splashes of Madchester beats, Grunge and cast-iron Heavy-Metal dual guitar solos.

FLESH have also gone about their business in a total DIY fashion. All their music has been recorded in their Fallowfield home studio and their DIY Gore mayhem can be see in their self-produced videos including their previous single 'Vauxhall Casanova' closely reaching 10k hits on YouTube.

After creating a strong fan base supporting the likes of Peace, DMAs and appearing at festivals such as Tramlines and Dot to Dot Festival; Robbie, Haz, Cozza & Jon have already attracted some serious acclaim.
Fans and critics alike have all succumbed to their metal and grunge-influenced sound, contemporary tongue in cheek lyrics and raucous live performances.

See their artist page for tour details.

Marika Hackman: At Union Chapel London

Marika Hackman has announced details of special one-off show at London's treasured Union Chapel on Friday 6th November 2015. Tickets will go on sale at 9:00 AM on Wednesday 17th June.

Intrigue is at the heart of Marika Hackman's music but there's something gloriously attainable about her as an artist and her commitment to touring and meeting with a receptive audience who are searching for the very same antidotes to the challenges of modern life.

'We Slept At Last' is an assured and endlessly intriguing debut album that rewards every repeated listen with new riches. Produced by long-term collaborator Charlie Andrew (Alt-J), each song uncovers an artist undaunted to challenge traditional conventions to create something that's at once classic and contemporary.

Wolf Alice are the cover stars of this week's NME.

With the release of their stunning debut album 'My Love Is Cool' just around the corner, London's Wolf Alice are today streaming an all-new track, 'You're A Germ', taken from the record.

Premiered on Radio 1 last night as Annie Mac's "Hottest Record In The World", the track is the perfect distillation of the band's melodic, narrative-led slant on grit and noise, all channeled through a dedication to arms-aloft euphoria that's sure to ignite Wolf Alice's festival summer and autumn tours in equal measure.

Patti Smith: Two Nights Of 'Horses' At London's Roundhouse

In the fall of 1975, Patti Smith gathered her band in Electric Lady Studios in New York City to record her debut album, 'Horses'. Released on November 10 of that year by Arista Records, it has come to be regarded as a seminal and landmark recording that continues to have resonance and relevance for succeeding generations of musicians and artists.

Now, forty years later, Smith will honor the longevity and lasting influence of the album with a series of special shows (30th & 31st October) centered around the album. She will be accompanied by two members of the original group, Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty, along with bassist / keyboardist Tony Shanahan, who has been a part of Her Band for twenty years.

'Horses' was the beginning of a long musical career that resonates even greater today. The album has achieved many notable recognitions over the years, included on many all-time best album lists, and by the Library of Congress in the National Recording Registry. It has been followed by another nine albums of original material, books of poetry and a best-selling memoir, 'Just Kids'; world tours and personal appearances, as well as induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The 1975: Announce 2nd Album & November Tour

Dear friends of The 1975,

I/We/The 1975 are currently in production of our second full length record. Its creation signifies the end of the most inspiring and challenging time that we've ever shared as friends and as artists. We simply couldn't of imagined connecting with as many people as we have since the release of our debut in 2013.

We have toured the world playing over 25,000 shows in 400 different countries (that's a slight exaggeration but it was a lot) and we have had the privilege of encountering the countless faces that make up our incredibly loyal and ebulliently peculiar fan-base. It is that loyalty that inspired me to write this letter, scrappy as it may be.

This is the beginning of a new chapter for The 1975. Our new record signifies the start of a new world for us, a more colourful world a less colourful world. We want to play shows we want a real shared experience we want to play HUGE shows that we never thought were possible we want to play sets at festivals that people talk about for ages cos it was fun and it was music and the weather was perfect and we want to be honest otherwise what's the fucking point? So the best way to start is the way we did before - in venues we have loved and places that feel intimate enough to do a proper new show. With people who really want to be there. Or need to be there in some extreme cases.

We have decided to start touring again this year, November 2015. Due to the size of the venues that we feel are appropriate for this particular tour and taking into consideration the humbling dedication that I have felt from a lot of our fans I predict that only the most dedicated will end up with tickets. This can only be remedied by our reciprocated dedication to playing more and more shows. I'll see you soon with more music and drama and you've known the title all along.

Love

Matty & The 1975
