Lou Rhodes: UK Tour October
Following excellent reviews for her new solo album 'theyesandeye', released in July on Nude Records, Lou Rhodes has announced news of four UK headline shows in late October, including a performance at the new Omeara venue in London, see her artist page for details.
"Located somewhere between the pastoral folk of Nick Drake, the jazzy phrasings of John Martyn and the spaciousness of the more far-out denizens of Laurel Canyon, this is an album on which every single sound sparkles and breathes." - Sunday Times
"Her fourth album sees love balladry and woodland acoustica collide. Cellos, plucked harps and electronic textures augment a sound that emerges somewhere between Nick Drake, Carole King's Tapestry and the Wicker Man soundtrack. The best moments are truly lovely." - The Guardian
"The arrangements are exquisite... Lou Rhodes has a background that encompasses folk and the singer-songwriter tradition, theyesandeye represents an evolution that is part psychedelic, part nu-folk, and wholly musical." - Record Collector - 4 Stars ****
"theyesandeye articulates a positive ecosphere... There are many estimable moments: Sea Organ calls to her fellow brothers and sisters of the sun to rise up, while Full Moon identifies the satellite's female spirit." - Q Magazine

Show Me The Body: Short Film 'Ammunition'
Show Me The Body (supported by Tidal, you know just like Kanye) conceived, directed and produced a short film called 'Ammunition'. It premiered on their media platform, Corpus.
I'll let you interpret for yourself, but the film is a personal and poetic account of them exploring America for the first time. And while on tour, finding stories as compelling, disturbing and uplifting as they found in their own backyard of New York City growing up.
It really shows Show Me The Body finding, for the first time, an expansion of the reach of their music past the Hudson River - a discovery that their movement, while rooted in New York City, is a universal plight.
Enjoy.- Contact

Gudrun Von Laxenburg: New Single 'Revolution'
Meet Gudrun Von Laxenburg, the Austrian electronic music trio whose blistering live shows have seen them become one of the hottest word-of-mouth bands on the continent. In the UK, they've attracted the attention of Fatboy Slim and Rob da Bank, and Skint, who've just signed their forthcoming debut album, 'Panic!'. Gudrun got their demo heard by sending a USB hidden inside a large, gold-sprayed pyramid bearing the Illuminati eye, the band figured that it couldn't be hidden beneath anything else; Skint signed them that week.

Kwamz & Flava: New Video 'Takeover'
Kwamz & Flava continue to connect the dots on the UK Afrobeats map worldwide, with their brand new video for the infectious single 'Takeover'. The audio, which dropped earlier this year on YouTube and has since racked up over 3 million views, inspiring fans to upload their own dance versions making it a viral sensation.
The accompanying visual was directed by Geoff Levy and is a vibrant three minutes of Afro infused, heart racing dance routines on the colourful streets of New York. Choreographed by Tanisha Scott (Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Sean Paul, Beyonce & Drake), the result is a perfect blend of African and Hip-Hop dance styles to Afrobeats.
Kwamz, real name Kelvin Laryea, Flava, real name Jermaine Boateng, met in school and quickly became friends. Joined at the hip by their passion for music and their Ghanaian heritage, it was clear from an early age that they wanted to make music.
"There is a huge appetite for African music and we are so proud to be apart of this movement", says Kwamz. "We love that we can fuse our British and African upbringing together in our music. 'Takeover' is such a feel good track, and we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do", laughs Flava.
Both boys who hail from Peckham, recently signed to Black Butter home to J Hus, Wiley, Kent Jones, DJ Khaled, Tink & Rudimental.

Scarlet Rascal: New Video 'Strange'
Today Scarlet Rascal share the brilliantly raucous, offbeat video for new single 'Strange'. Directed by James Hankins (Trust Fund, Micachu & The Shapes), a Bristol film maker known for his twisted take on the pop video format, the wild visual is one of the most original videos of the year.
In the bands own words: "The video is a kind of stream of consciousness of police corruption and un-holy sex acts".
Inhabiting their own beautifully low-lit, wonderfully moody corner of the musical universe, poised somewhere at the crossroads between the nocturnal, rolling soundscapes of Kevin Shields and the coolly detached grandeur of Television, Scarlet Rascal are a unique proposition. Their much anticipated self titled debut album is released on the acclaimed Invada Records, the label founded by Geoff Barrow (Portishead, Beak, Ex Machina).
'Scarlet Rascal' is released on September 30th and 'Strange' is 'Track of the Day' on Clash Music.
