Soko: New Single & Video'Sweet Sound Of Ignorance'
Soko wrote a love letter to all the weird creative kids out there:
"Sweet Sound of Ignorance" is the first song I've released since my album My Dreams Dictate My Reality, which came out two years ago.
So I'm a little nervous.
In August, I moved from L.A. to NY to record my upcoming album with Patrick Wimberly and challenge myself out of my comfort zone. I put so much of my entire being into making music: heart and soul, tears, sweat, and blood. The song is the result of purposely isolating myself until I lost track of time, people, life, reality-a form of self-induced cabin fever. In a nutshell, it's about being very anti-social and a lonely crybaby in desperate need of a cuddle, yet terrified of intimacy, but the track sounds pretty happy if you don't pay attention to the words. It's a contrast I always treasure in music-happy-sad music.
For the video, I decided to create a full trip inside my head. I love cartoons, and I cherish my inner child always and forever, so directing my own videos is always a good way to unleash it. There is something very exciting and satisfying about being able to express my full vision, raw, vulnerable and unaltered."

Slowdive: UK & European Tour
Slowdive recently made their return with new single, 'Star Roving,' their first new material in 22 years. It was released to a flurry of excitement, even taking the band to #1 on the Billboard & Twitter Trending 140.
Comprised of Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Christian Savill (guitar), Nick Chaplin (bass), Rachel Goswell (vocals) and Simon Scott (drums, electronics), Slowdive have already announced a headline slot at London's Field Day festival this summer, and are now announcing a set of intimate club shows in UK and Europe, their first outside of London since their reformation in 2014.
Slowdive released their debut album, 'Just For A Day', in 1991 via Creation Records. The esteemed 'Souvlaki' followed in 1993 and 'Pygmalion' in 1995, and then the band disbanded. In the 22 years of their virtual disappearance, the band's reputation and reverence continued to grow, as people continued to discover and be drawn to their recordings. In 2014, Slowdive announced that they had reunited and over the course of that summer they thrilled emotional crowds across the European festival circuit and the US.
The intention was always that new music would follow. Finally in January 2017 the band signed to Dead Oceans and released their first new single 'Star Roving.'
The forthcoming shows will see the band playing a mix of old classics and new material up close and personal.

The tune opens with a raw yet growling energy, Elliphant's omnipresent tones rippling out of the silence before surging drums accompany the listener towards a disjointed, steppy breakdown. Sub bass visibly washes over the brooding bassline as the track develops, to a climax now with just mere snatches of vocals mimicking its frantic energy.
