PWR BTTM: New Album 'Pageant' & Video
On PWR BTTM's new album 'Pageant' out May 12th via Big Scary Monsters / Polyvinyl, glammed and glittered duo Ben Hopkins and Liv Bruce tackle their diary-like explorations of life, identity and existential crises head-on. 'Pageant' is a vital exploration of self that's hot with friction, angst and hope, both hilarious and heart wrenching.
'Pageant' is ferociously emotional, with passionate narratives set to cutting rock and roll anthems. The album builds upon PWR BTTM's sensational debut 'Ugly Cherries' with a further refined song craft and sonic flourishes including horns, flutes, keyboard and even an impromptu choir. The result is thirteen original songs that burst with laughter, tears and triumph. 'Pageant' was produced by Christopher Daly and Cameron West, and was recorded primarily in the top floor of a furniture factory in Geneva, New York.
Watch the new video for 'Big Beautiful Day' where a normal morning of breakfast and couch sitting turns into a fully-fledged, glitter-fuelled dance party with crowd surfing, fireworks, and confetti.
PWR BTTM will tour extensively in 2017, including an EU and UK tour, beginning April 10th 2017. In a recent glowing live review, the NY Times deemed PWR BTTM "part theater, part punk, entirely captivating."

Rejjie Snow: New Track 'Flexin' & Tour
Ahead of his first major European tour, Rejjie Snow today releases his new track 'Flexin' (feat. Ebenezer), available to stream and download via 300 Entertainment / Snow Face. The song follows the unflinching 'Crooked Cops' as the latest taste of Snow's eagerly anticipated debut album 'Dear Annie', due for release later this year. Both 'Flexin' and 'Crooked Cops' were produced by the Grammy award winning Rahki (Kendrick Lamar, Syd the Kid, Eminem), who is executive producing the LP.
Following a just-completed residency in New York, Snow embarks on his biggest UK & European tour to date, including a show at London's 2,300-capacity Forum. Support across the dates comes from Jesse James Solomon, Salen, Yellow Days and Cosmo Pyke.
Snow's first mixtape, 'Rejovich', has amassed over six million plays. Since then he's been dropping acclaimed track after acclaimed track; performed alongside the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Joey Badass; and collaborated with Cam O'bi, Kaytranada, Loyle Carner and King Krule, amongst others. Released in autumn last year, the acclaimed tracks 'D.R.U.G.S' and 'Pink Beetle' were the first singles lifted from 'Dear Annie'.

Kite Base: UK Tour With Thor & Friends
Kite Base, a two-piece band consisting of bass guitarists Ayse Hassan (Savages) and Kendra Frost, have announced details of a short run of U.K. dates with Thor & Friends (Thor Harris of Swans / Shearwater).
The dates follow their recent European headline tour, which culminated in a sold-out show at London's Kamio.
Kite Base will be announcing their own U.K. headline tour shortly.
The band recently released 'Transition', which was accompanied by a visually stunning video based around live footage taken from the band's sold-out show at London's Electrowerkz at the end of last year and directed by Simone Pellegrini & Giorgio Testi.
The track is a taster from their forthcoming debut album, 'Latent Whispers', which is released on Friday May 26th 2017. The 9-track album can be ordered now via Pledge Music.

Ginger Snaps: New Single 'Number Crunching'
Following the release of the hugely successful 'Phat Kids', Ginger Snaps is back with with a raucous new single 'Number Crunching', set for release on the 17th March 2017.
Ginger Snaps are the multi-instrumentalist, writing and production duo Jay Brook and Lee Irons from Northampton.
Whilst also being a main writing team for the Radio X play-listed 'OhBoy!', Jay & Lee have spent time in their Northampton Lab cooking up a brand new sound. Continuing their flair for off kilter indie pop, Ginger Snaps' latest release 'Number Crunching' is a catchy, retro inspired, pop track with singable hooks, jangly 60's style guitar, and a groove-laden rhythm section, providing the perfect setting for Jay's gritty vocals.
Forming Ginger Snaps in April 2015, Jay & Lee set out on a new musical adventure, a recipe they'd been eager to debut for years through various musical endeavors but finally felt ready to showcase. First out the door came debut 'Paranoid' in May, a raucous, funk laden record, drenched in baggy instrumentation and groove effects, made pristine through Jay's self-aware commentary and raspy delivery.
CLASH were quick to premiere the track and Radio X were made fans - adding it straight onto the Evening List. Radio 1's Huw Stephens added it to his BBC Introducing Playlist, 6Music's Tom Robinson put it on his BBC Intro Mixtape and BBC Northampton brought Jay & Lee in to talk about their sudden ascension.
'Phat Kids' became the bold second single when released in July - where the duo received further high praise from DIY & Radio 1's Annie Mac - at which point she made Ginger Snaps one of her esteemed August #NewNames.Amazing Radio were next to highlight the track by adding it to their 'A-List' - climbing into the Top 10 of the Amazing Chart. The track has just been re-released stateside courtesy of ECG Records (Gaslight Anthem, Twin Atlantic).
A Ginger Snaps live show debuted when Radio 1's Abbie McCarthy asked the band to play her monthly Good Karma Club in Islington in September, showcasing a refreshingly different live set up involving parts of a gospel choir and a veteran scratch DJ.
'Number Crunching' was premiered by Abbie McCarthy on BBC Radio 1 on the 13th March, and since then, the track has picked up support from Virgin Radio's Edith Bowman, and recieved it's first online premiere from Dork Magazine. 'Number Crunching' is set for release on 17th March via Killing Moon Records, and Ginger Snaps will be hitting the road throughout March.

"Gonna play you something brand new right now from a band called Ginger Snaps, one of my favourite biscuits. They formed a couple of years ago, they are Jay and Lee from Nottingham and they're kind of obviously quite early on in their career, but this is great. I really like it. It's called 'Number Crunching' and it's just, well according to their blog it's a 'catchy retro-inspired pop track with sing-able hooks, jangly 60s style guitar and a groove-laden rhythm section'.
Have a listen, see if you agree. I think it's very good... How good is this? It's good isn't it. They're called Ginger Snaps. I really like what I hear from that. It's called 'Number Crunching'. Jules reckons it sounds like 'Devil's Haircut' from Beck. I'm sure they would take that as a massive compliment. But I like that a lot. Ginger Snaps, 'Number Crunching'. Ooh that's good, I want them to come in and do a session for us!"

Strong Asian Mothers: New 'Animal' EP
On 3rd March, London based electronic alternative pop trio Strong Asian Mothers release their new EP 'Animal' - along with the title track from the EP. Premiering last night on Julie Adenuga's Beats 1 show, the single is a vibrant cacophony of swirling electronics, glitchy production touches, and irrepressible pop-tinged melody ideas.
London's Strong Asian Mothers blend of styles and emphatic live show has been making waves on the capital's underground gig scene for a while and now the band are about to step firmly in to the limelight. Best friends since their early years, Amer, Kalim and Josh have played in bands together throughout their childhoods but it was under Strong Asian Mothers that they really found their strength. Tying together influences from hip-hop and trap, along with a healthy dose of pop sensibilities - they're not only a formidable live act, but an outfit who are outdoing themselves with every new release.
New EP 'Animal' is whirlwind 4 track release, taking cues from a wide spread of electronic, and pop influences - pairing inventive electronic production flourishes and ideas, with a strong pop-leaning backdrop. The trio are a formidable proposition, improving with every carefully plotted step they take.
Speaking on the EP's title track, and the band's new single - the trio said: "Animal began as a jam between Josh and Amer in a rehearsal. We added some elephant shrieks, a pack of cards being riffle-shuffled, the sound of us opening a can of fizzy pop and saying 'Aaaah' then sprinkled some words on top and it became the juicy, bouncy fella it is today."
If in the studio these three excel, then on the stage is where they truly come in to their own. A string of sold-out headline spots for Communion, plus stand out performances at the likes of Bestival, Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape and Reading & Leeds, have cemented them as one of the country's most exciting and promising live acts. Blending electronic and live elements they seamlessly bridge the gap between gig and club, and really bring the party every time they step out on stage.
Their debut 'Lynx Africa' EP won an army of fans across the board from CLASH Magazine and The Line Of Best Fit, to Pigeons & Planes and Stereogum across the pond - and became a firm favourite across the Radio 1 airwaves with Huw Stephens, Annie Mac and Phil Taggart providing heavy rotation. Lead single 'The More That I' went on to be added to the BBC Introducing playlist and picked up further support across Beats 1, XFM and Kiss.
Having sold out their most recent London headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen way in advance last November, not to mention recording their debut Maida Vale Live Session for Radio 1 and Huw Stephens, the release today of new EP 'Animal' marks a huge moment in Strong Asian Mothers' rapid ascent.
Sharing their thoughts on their new EP, the band said: "After the runaway, global success of the 'Lynx Arica EP', the pressure on us to deliver again was enormous. It was all too much for Josh, who picked up a filthy burger habit and started listening to jazz again. We realised at that point we had to take matters into our own hands - we did a 237.34p Sainsbury's shop and escaped to our friend's mum's house in leafy Oxfordshire for a week and wrote this. The 'Animal EP' is the sound of us taking our destiny back into our own hands and reconnecting with our true, pre-Lynx Africa selves."
